Should you wish to buy and sell materials on the exchange, you must first register with the site. Your login will consist of your e-mail address and a password that you will receive from PRO-plast.

Which forms/qualities of raw material are traded on the exchange?

The exchange is intended for the trade of surplus virgin material. Any products placed on the exchange must be defined in terms of raw material form, including trade name, grade, color and, if possible, color number.

PRO-plast itself provides, besides surplus virgin materials, regranulate and TT Compounds® (wide spec) on the exchange.

What is surplus material?

Surplus is not produced anywhere. It is the result of unplanned events such as material or color changes, order losses, misguided actions or inaccurate estimates. Thus we only refer to individual units.

Who was the exchange created for? (Users/participants)

Polymer processors (manufacturers of parts e.g. injection-moulding or extrusion)

Polymer processors can use the exchange to purchase from a vast range of low price polymers (bargains) and offer their own, surplus virgin raw material to a wider purchasing audience.

Traders, compounders, reprocessors (amongst others)

These companies can use the exchange to purchase from a vast range of low price polymers (bargains) and offer their raw materials to PRO-plast for purchase.

Why do products offered by PRO-plast Kunststoff GmbH come with a seal of approval?

Raw materials offered by PRO-plast itself are held in the company’s own stores and have been subjected to internal quality control.  PRO-plast is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 standard. The following is checked: allocation to the correct raw material group, accuracy and completeness of trade name, grade, lot, color, color number, and, in some cases, color-classification in terms of RAL, weight and packaging. Smaller packaging deficiencies are corrected, larger packaging deficiencies are resolved with new packaging and unusable goods are sorted out.

Selling raw materials: 2 options

A) You can place your products in your own name on the exchange

This may be more profitable or be a quicker way to find purchasers.

This would mean:
Your company’s name and details are visible to all other visitors to the exchange. Several potential purchasers will contact you directly, with whom you will need to negotiate. You would complete the transaction, arrange delivery and billing directly with the purchaser.

Service:
Use the corresponding registration form. PRO-plast will arrange that all relevant information will be correctly entered and reproduced on the exchange (trade name, grade, color, color number, packaging, quantity, etc.). Only after you have approved the content of offer, and have requested that PRO-Plast place it online, will it be published.  

Service fee:
A fee of EUR 25.00 per article and for a period of 90 days will be charged. There are no sales commissions associated with this service.

B) You can offer your surplus materials to PRO-plast Kunststoff GmbH for purchase

PRO-plast will let you know quickly which goods can be bought at which price, and will be able to transfer them immediately from your warehouse to its own stores. This enables you to sell on not just individual lots but entire product blocks both quickly and efficiently.

Can I sell on the exchange anonymously?

It is not normal practice for advertisements to be posted without the contractor’s name and address. Should you wish not to appear as the supplier when selling goods, then you should register them with PRO-plast Kunststoff GmbH for purchase.

Why can’t I post my own offer online on the exchange?

The exchange wants to retain its own high quality standards. Raw material offers should appear in the correct group with correct and complete details. For this reason, a sales advertisement will only be placed online after it has been checked by PRO-plast and approved by the advertiser/vendor.

These measures safeguard sales opportunities and boost overall quality within the market place.

What do I do if I successfully sold my goods on the exchange?

(or if the goods are no longer available for some other reason) Just send a short note to PRO-plast. Otherwise you will be informed once the 90-day sales period has ended and you can decide whether you would like to extend the advert by another ninety days or if it should be withdrawn.  

How much does the publication of my sales advertisement cost?

No commission is charged. However a service fee of EURO 25.00 is charged for each article for a period of ninety days.
